American Hardcore

This amazing documentary based on Steve Blush’s book of the same name documents some of the pioneers of the hardcore punk music scene in America. Bands such as Black Flag, Bad Brains, D.O.A., Minor Threat, and The Minutemen are featured. The rights to their music, originally released on independent and now defunct record labels, reverted back to the members of the band, so rights clearance became an unusually, intimate experience.

Walt & El Grupo

Drawing on the director’s intimate familiarity with the Disney studios and enviable access to archival materials, this film penetrates deep into studio lore in documenting a fascinating and little known chapter of film history: a 1941 research trip-cum–goodwill tour of South America by Walt Disney and a hand-picked group of his artists, nicknamed El Grupo.

Aspyr Media – Stubbs the Zombie

This is a third-person zombie game developed by Wideload Games, published by Aspyr Media and built on the Halo engine. We worked on the Soundtrack which contained 12 specially -commissioned covers of 50s & 60s- era songs heard in the game, performed by Cake, The Dandy Warhols, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, Ben Kweller, Oranger and Rogue Wave.

Evolution of Dance – Judson Laipply

Open YouTube on your iPhone and the first video to appear under “most viewed” is Judson Laipply’s Evolution of Dance, a six-minute one-man dance routine of the history of dance. This is pure comedy, but all the music had to be cleared, and we were the lovely folks that did so.

GSD&M – BMW

GSD&M came to us for the use of the hugely successful YouTube footage of the two kids opening their Nintendo N64 game at Christmas. This footage was incorporated into a 2007 Christmas campaign that won accolades again over YouTube.

Duncan/Channon – Hard Rock Cafe

We worked with local ad agency Duncan/Channon on their re-branding campaign for Hard Rock Entities. Their campaign won the American Association of Advertising Agencies O’Toole Award. They came to us to help find the right classic rock song to match their image for a worldwide television campaign.

Red Bull – Crashed Ice 2008

This Roller Derby was based out of Quebec City, Canada. We secured a Canadian band, The Trews, for use behind the images of this spectacular combination of downhill skiing, hockey and boarder cross.

Ross Communications – Yes on 3 – Children’s Hospital Bond

We helped secure the John Lennon hit “Imagine” for use in a commercial to Vote “Yes” on 3. This song was cleared a year in advance so that a live recording of the song sung by a group of young children (age 8 – 12) could be filmed with actress Jamie Lee Curtis for the Campaign. “Imagine with us” become the slogan of the campaign. The Bond passed.
